"My daughter and I had a really great time at Little Lambs playgroup. Anabel enjoyed herself playing and socializing with the other kids while I had a great time chatting with the other moms. It's a great way to get out of the house and do something constructive with your little one and at the end we all had a singsong. Anabel really loved that." (AM, June 2015)

Hello! Creative Movement in English is an exciting place for young children (and their parents too!) to explore and discover their creativity, free expression, physical strengths, and artistic potential. They have a series of inspiring movement-based programs, taught entirely in English by a native instructor, that provide a loving environment for growing children aged 1+ and their families to put their language skills into motion. Central to their philosophy is the belief in a healthy lifestyle full of physical activity, artistic expression and cultural awareness, all beginning at an early age. All classes culminate in an end of term demonstration and an end of year performance for the whole family.
The children who come to Hello! may have one or both English speaking parents; others may have been exposed to some English through other activities; and some may have never been exposed to the language at all before joining.
"Natalia is so so enjoying her English ballet classes, they are really great fun both for her as well as for me (her mother) as I watch her have such a great time. She especially likes the chassé, and runs round our house after the class with her arms out chasséing in great excitement!! It is also great for her to have an activity in English, I would really recommend it to other parents and daughters who want to have a really enjoyable thing to do together and improve language skills in a fun environment." The Apple Tree Club was founded by four English-speaking mums with many years of experience living and teaching English in Spain. As mums of little ones, they were concerned by the lack of flexible educational English activities on offer for children. They wanted a safe place where they could take children a few times a week to play and learn with others. They also wanted an English speaking environment where they could meet other mums, relax and share experiences.

"Just wanted to share my favourite little spot for hanging out with other mums and toddlers - the Apple Tree Club in Majadahonda. I love the place. I discovered it not long after moving here 1.5 years ago, and I honestly feel that it made my transition into life in Madrid way easier than any of my previous moves to new cities/countries. My boys and I made friends quickly at the mums and toddlers group (Tuesdays 12.30-2pm) and my eldest son went to the playgroup in the mornings and loved it. The teachers are very friendly and caring and the whole philosophy of the place is kind of Montessori, learn through play and creativity, that sort of thing. I love that it is more flexible than typical Spanish guarderías - you can send your kids for just 2 or 3 mornings a week if you prefer." (LB, April 2011)

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement. Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning.

Renowned music and Movement classes in English
"A licensed Kindermusik Educator, Laura who is bilingual and has lots of experience working with babies, toddlers and preschoolers has been teaching Kindermusik to my son and two other kids in the neighbourhood and we are delighted. My son has learned lots of new songs, and dances. Now we bought some instruments because he was using other things in the house to make music! I recommend it to all parents who want their children to learn English and develop music skills in a fun way. The first class is always free, there are different groups for children 1-6 years old and I think she is organizing groups in different areas in Madrid." (AV, May 2012)

"All the classes .... are such brilliant fun! The centre is spotless, bright and wonderfully decorated, with the most fabulous – and super safe - play gym area. It’s so unusual in Madrid to have a class that you can actually go to with your child, rather than the usual dump and run approach. They also do birthday parties, free-play (ie non-class) sessions and organise specialist talks and promotions" (AP, Aug 2009)

If you want to start with swimming-lessons before the age of 18 months, in Madrid you have to go for private pools such as the Piscina Bahia, near Legazpi (more reasonable in price, water without chlorine). Only Spanish speaking.

“When I first contacted English for fun to take my daughter Valentina to their playgroups I was very sceptic as I had always left her at home with a nanny but I thought that some “socialization” would be good for her. Jil, the owner, encouraged me to take her 5 days a week and that´s what I did.
I immediately realized that I had taken the best ever decision. My daughter was so happy going to English for fun! They have a fantastic method to stimulate children. The learn by playing. They are constantly stimulating children though music, painting, cooking, doing experiments, etc… After first month I was amazed on the results. My daughter was learning so many things and she was starting to say some words in English! All the staff of the school are very affectionate with the children and professional. They make you feel very comfortable as you know that you are leaving your children in good hands. I really recommend English for fun! This year I am repeating and I am taking my daughter Valentina to their preschool kindergarden and I am as impressed with the results as I was with the playgroups.” (PF, Oct 2013)

"Attending Nuria’s classes with Noa, my 2 and a half year old daughter, has been a very positive experience for both. The classes are dynamic, playful and loaded with great teaching techniques that enable English learning at a very early educational stage. The classes, are run entirely in English by Nuria, and developed with important educational, creative and meaningful resources that connect deeply with the psycho-educational characteristics of the infant. The music, the playtime, the use of body language and the childs interaction with his / her parent, increase the childs motivation to learn the language quickly. My daughter became familiar with the main concepts pretty fast, and I must say I am very satisfied with her approach and understanding of the language. It has also been a great opportunity to refresh my knowledge of the English language and to strengthen even further the bond with my daughter." (SU, December 2013)
